Background and Approach
I
was born in South
America, and my interest in Yoga began in my late teenage years.
I was fascinated by oriental philosophies, and as it sometimes happens
in life, a few years later I met my late husband, who was a Buddhist,
and had the opportunity of spending a lot of time in Asia. I was deeply
impressed
by the beauty of Yoga as I saw it practiced in that environment, and
by the calm, inner strength exuded by the people who embraced this
way of life.
16 years later, I came to live in Cheltenham. Cheltenham is a beautiful place to live, practice and teach yoga.
My Cheltenham Yoga Classes are located quite centrally in Cheltenham, in the Up Hatherley and Prestbury area, and my Gloucestershire Yoga Classes are in Innsworth and Churchdown. However, some people from Cheltenham come to practice their yoga in the Churchdown Yoga Class as it is so easily accessible from Cheltenham. The classes in Cheltenham and Gloucester work as a club attendance.
Twenty-five years later, and with many a twist and turn of fate, my love for Yoga endures.
I have worked with different teachers using different styles of Yoga but decided to qualify as a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher, teaching Hatha Yoga. I also completed the Further & Adult Education Teaching Certificate.
For many years I have also worked as a Counsellor and Healthy Living Practitioner but now concentrate mainly on Yoga and Meditation.
My ethos is on community building, in keeping with the traditional attitude within Yoga of like-minded people gathering to celebrate and practice the art of Yoga.
I believe that Yoga brings us a sense of wholeness, cultivated through the mindfulness of our approach. Yoga gives us the tools to develop a new perspective on life revealing harmony and balance. By learning to embrace change we can treat our bodies changing needs with integrity.
Yoga has enriched my life on many levels, it has helped me embrace the challenges and changes that life has brought my way.
