. Proprietor Gill Wyatt Smith has run Yew Tree Gallery in various parts of the country since 1971. In November 2001 Gill opened her first exhibition, 'Eye of the Soul' at the purpose-built gallery in Morvah. Stimulating exhibitions both challenge and delight. Contemporary paintings, tapestries, ceramics, glass, wood and sculpture find their natural setting in the gallery, glasshouse and garden, making it easy to visualise them in one's own home. The specific theme of each exhibition is different, yet the underlying intent is always the same - to draw attention to the fragile balance between mankind and the environment and to nurture awareness of our interdependence. Recent exhibition titles have been 'Seeds of Reality, Seeds of Hope', Joie de Vivre', 'Coming Home', 'Guiding Stars', 'On The Wing' and 'Good Spirits'. Fine and applied artists working in Britain are selected for the originality and professionalism of their work - and often for their humour. |
