Psychotherapy

Sharing problems with others is always helpful. However this therapy offers guidance in coping with deep anxieties and very painful circumstances, and each session is organised to maximise the benefit for the client. A Psychotherapist is not medically trained and can therefore not prescribe drugs or ECT, rather he/she may recommend Art Therapy, Bioenergetics, Dance or Music Therapy if appropriate. The aim of Psychotherapy is to give the patient a more positive outlook on life, a greater sense of identity and an ability to reverse destructive patterns.

Notes: Psychotherapy is a general term that encompasses many different types of therapy, from classical Freudian Psychoanalysis to newer, more experimental therapies.
