Holistic career counselling uses a person-centred approach that starts by exploring the client's over-all goals in life, her skills, knowledge and experience and what might be preventing her from achieving her goals. In addition to advice on interview techniques, self-marketing, networking etc., any personal blocks to success are worked with, and exercises that empower and motivate the client are given. Psychometric assessment may be employed as a way of understanding the client's needs. Traditional career advice such as on preparing effective CVs, letter writing is also given.
